CASE STUDY: DEEP LEARNING ULTRASONOGRAPHY MODEL

Developing a Deep Learning Ultrasonography Model to Classify Thyroid Nodules as Benign

Thyroid cancer, or the occurrence of rapid cell growth in the thyroid gland located near the neck, is the fastest growing cancer among women. Unsurprisingly, the need for a quick diagnosis of thyroid cancer has become ever more important.

After seeing what my little sister went through during her battle with the disease, I was determined to find a more efficient method to diagnose thyroid cancer using artificial intelligence in a way that was painless and non-invasive.

In my talk I will cover my research process from finding a dataset and getting initial results, to finding a mentor willing to help polish my results for submission to competitions. I also hope to inspire people that want to change the world with AI for the better. If a high schooler can do it, so can you!
